As a local Aberdeen charity dedicated to brightening up young lives, Lifestars is proud to support a new community project in the heart of the city. We’re raising funds to transform the outdoor play area at Hanover Street Primary School, one of our close partner schools, and we need your help.
Our target is to raise £10,000, and thanks to previous fundraising, events and local support, we’ve already raised more than £3,500. Now, we’re reaching out to the wider community to help bring the final goal within reach.
The existing space is in real need of attention. With the funds raised, we’ll be installing proper football goals, basketball hoops, new game markings, and fresh colours across the play area. But more than that, this is about giving children a space that reflects their creativity, energy and sense of possibility, somewhere they can play freely, connect with others, and just be themselves.
Hanover has been a key partner school for Lifestars for several years. We’ve worked closely with pupils and staff to deliver weekly life skills workshops, support with summer activities, and mentoring that builds confidence and belonging. Like all of our school relationships, this partnership is built on trust, consistency and genuine care.
This playground makeover is the next step in that journey, a tangible way of saying to these pupils, “you deserve something great.”
The children have even created their own video to share why this matters to them. Hearing it in their own words is a reminder of what this campaign is really about: listening to young people, and showing them that their voices are heard.
