Lifestars is celebrating after an incredible fundraising effort at this year’s Aberdeen Runway Run helped generate £20,000 for the charity’s work supporting children and young people across the North East of Scotland.
The unique midnight event, organised at Aberdeen Airport, saw hundreds of participants take on the challenge of running the airport runway under the lights, creating a memorable experience while raising vital funds for charity.
Lifestars was selected as CHC Helicopter’s chosen charity partner for the 2026 event, with funds raised helping the charity continue its mission of empowering children through active learning experiences and developing essential life skills including communication, trust, leadership, pride and confidence.
Early figures suggest the event has raised more than £71,000 overall, with Lifestars expected to receive close to £20,000 from the total.
The funding will directly support the charity’s programmes in schools across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, helping provide enriching experiences that build confidence, encourage personal development and give young people opportunities to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

“Seeing so many people come together to support Lifestars was incredibly special. Every pound raised will help create opportunities for children and young people across the North East, giving them the confidence, skills and support they need to reach their potential. The atmosphere on the night was fantastic and it’s inspiring to see the community getting behind a cause that makes such a real difference.”

The Runway Run forms part of Lifestars’ ongoing partnership with CHC Helicopter, which has supported the charity through fundraising, volunteering and engagement activities throughout the year.
